Nurse Practitioner/ Physician Assistant (Wound Care Center)

Job Description:

GENERAL SUMMARY:  

The Nurse Practitioner is assigned to the Wound Management Specialists Provider Group and is under the supervision of a physician. As assigned by the Company, the Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP)/ physician Assistant (PA) is responsible for providing high quality wound care for patients including, but not limited to, Long Term Acute Care Facilities, Skilled Nursing Facilities, Hospital Inpatient Facilities, In-home, Private office, and Wound Center Outpatient Clinics. Medical Receptionist (Clinic)

GENERAL SUMMARY: 

The Medical Receptionist performs a variety of clerical/clinical duties while providing professional and courteous support to patients, physicians, office, and hospital staff.  Assists the physician with a variety of medical paperwork (triage of paperwork, diagnoses results, ordering); facilitate admitting of patients; and communicates with other physician offices regarding patient’s status as appropriate.

EDUCATION – High school education or equivalent required. EXPERIENCE – A minimum of one year experience in a medical practice setting, assisting physicians, or equivalent training in a related field preferred. Knowledge of or experience in hospital nursing/assisting. Pt Care Sec/Monitor Technician

Job Description:

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Observes patient’s heart rhythm on monitors and reports significant changes or abnormal patterns of heart rhythm to nurse.  Patient Care Secretary functions under direction of Nurse Manager/designee and assists in maintaining a smooth functioning unit.

EDUCATION – High school education required.  Must have minimum three years experience in healthcare setting; minimal one year experience in a clinic setting.  Specialized technical training of one to two years preferred.  Experience in Oncology also preferred.

EXPERIENCE – High school education or equivalent required.  Must have knowledge of examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures; knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care; knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.  Must posses skill in taking vital signs; maintaining records and recording test results.  Must be able to establish and maintain working relationships with patients, medical staff and public. 



Hospice CNA (Hospice)

Job Description:

GENERAL SUMMARY:  

Perform various service duties and routine technical tasks to include taking vital signs and assisting patients with basic hygiene and daily living activities under close supervision and according to established policies and procedures.

EDUCATION – High school education or equivalent required.  Must provide evidence of having passed both written and manual sections of Certified Nursing Assistant Program or one year prior home care experience at a certified Medicare facility.  Valid Alabama driver’s license, proof of current automobile liability insurance and reliable transportation required to carry out patient assignments.

EXPERIENCE – Must have sympathetic attitude toward care of sick, genuine interest in geriatric nursing, liking for people and desire to serve those who are ill and/or incapacitated.  Ability to work under close supervision, follow verbal and written instructions, adjust to diversified types of personalities and use tact and judgment in dealing with varying situations, patients, their families and visitors.

Pharmacy Technician

Job Description:

GENERAL SUMMARY:   

A pharmacy technician assists a pharmacist in the process of filling a prescription.  The technician will perform pharmaceutical care tasks under the control and guidance of a licensed pharmacist.  A technician must be registered with the Alabama State Board of Pharmacy.

EDUCATION – High school education or equivalent required.  Ability to read and write, prepare and interpret written instructions and make arithmetical calculations.  Require basic typing ability of 20 wpm to access data in pharmacy computer system.

EXPERIENCE – Six months’ of continuous experience in a pharmacy position with I.V. admixture service experience.  Ability to provide guidance and training to other pharmacy technicians and students.  Registered with Alabama State Board of Pharmacy as a pharmacy technician.


Denial Management Liaison (Patient Financial Services)

Job Description:

GENERAL SUMMARY:   

Balances and deposits daily funds for facility.  Prepare documentation for deposits.  Assist financial counselor as needed.  Maintains, monitors and distributes all denial management information to staff and vendors. 

EDUCATION:  High school plus one to two years’ additional course work. Knowledge of field of business or social science acquired through two years of college.  Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Coordinates and implements Café services to support guest services/satisfaction and sanitation.  Oversees cash sales of the Food Service department.  Oversees set up for special events, catering functions, etc. that are served by the Food Service Dept.  Assures clean up after functions.  Reports to the Food Service Director

EDUCATION – High school graduate or equivalent with additional course work.  Associate degree in Management or Dietary Management certification preferred.  Serv-Safe or other Sanitation certification preferred.    

EXPERIENCE – Two to three years prior experience in food service restaurant/hospital as a supervisor preferred if above educational requirements are not met.


Manager, Patient Care Delivery System (Food and Nutrition Department)

Prepares and cooks food for patients, cafeteria and special function meals according to established procedures and guidelines to produce highest quality meal possible with minimum waste.

EDUCATION – High school education or equivalent.  Requires understand/transmit detailed instructions and performing simple arithmetic calculations.

EXPERIENCE – Six to twelve months experience as a hospital cook or similar position.


Patient Care Assistant (Senior Behavioral Unit)

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Certified Nurse Assistant performs selected patient care activities.  The Certified Nurse Assistant is a member of the multidisciplinary treatment team and provides various patient care activities and non-professional services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of the patient.  Must be capable of physically assisting patients, dealing with patient emergencies, and working as a member of a clinical team.

EDUCATION – Must be Certified Nursing Assistant in good standing on State of Alabama Registry; BCLS Certification.  High school diploma or equivalent required.    

EXPERIENCE – One to three years experience in related field.  Must posses organizational, verbal, interpersonal, and customer relations skills required in order to interact with resident, family, physicians and staff.  Must have analytical, grammar/spelling, and computer skills.  Must also be able to read and comprehend both written and verbal instruction.


Respiratory Therapist (Respiratory)

Full-time Position; 7p-7a

Administer more complex respiratory therapy procedures to general and critical care patients under minimal supervision and according to established department policies, procedures and standards.  Makes assessment of patients’ respiratory status, administers prescribed therapies and monitors patient response to such therapies.  May oversee and direct work of lower classified personnel and assists in training and orientation of new Respiratory Therapist or students as requested.

EDUCATION – Requires knowledge of anatomy, physiology, microbiology, pulmonary physics, pulmonary patho physiology, advanced respiratory care, mathematics, blood gas chemistry and pharmacology at a level generally acquired through completion of a two year AMA approved program in Respiratory Therapy.  Must have passed certified (CRT) and be licensed by Alabama State Board of Respiratory Therapy.

EXPERIENCE – Approximately six to twelve months’ of progressively more responsible related work experience necessary to gain a complete understanding of respiratory therapy principles and procedures in order to provide assistance in resolution of difficult work related problems, orient and train new employees and provide technical advice on performing therapies.  Analytical ability necessary to review and evaluate various laboratory results, conduct respiratory assessments, and properly operate technical respiratory equipment.  Interpersonal skills necessary to explain therapy and goals to patients and family members and to communicate effectively with nursing personnel, physicians and other hospital personnel.



Multi Skilled Technician (Emergency Room)

Full-time Position; 6p-4a

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Floor Tech (Housekeeping)

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Ultrasound Technologist  (Imaging Department)

Temporary/PRN Position; Call Required

Job Description:

GENERAL SUMMARY:  

Performs and records ultrasound diagnostic tests to obtain information about internal organs, fluid accumulations, masses or development of fetuses for use in diagnosis of disease, study of malfunction of organs, prenatal examination of fetus and placenta, etc. under general supervision and following established policies and procedures.  Ensures quality of ultrasound test and records results.

EDUCATION – Knowledge of anatomy and physiology at a level normally acquired through completion of two years post high school training in an allied health science such as nursing or radiologic technology and knowledge of ultrasound techniques and procedures as generally acquired through six months to one year related training.

EXPERIENCE – Approximately three to six months’ on-the-job training necessary to acquire efficiency in operating sonographic equipment, learn hospital and departmental policies and procedures, and the like. Interpersonal skills necessary in order to explain procedures topatients and allay apprehensions and to discuss test results with physicians.  Analytical skills necessary to effectively detect Pathologies based on knowledge of physiological cause and effect of diseases.  Understand radiation safety procedures.
