Pastoral Care

Chaplain Glenn WinterThe Department of Pastoral Care provides spiritual care and emotional support to patients, their families, and medical center staff. Our services are available to persons of all faiths and no religious affiliation at all.

The Director of Pastoral Care serves as a liaison to the communities of faith that serve our patient population, and as a resource to help area churches establish and strengthen their health ministries. Local ministers and lay caregivers from a wide spectrum of denominations serve in the Department of Pastoral Care as volunteer staff. At certain times of the year, ministers and select laypersons may serve as Chaplain Interns in the hospital through our Clinical Pastoral Education partnership with the Baptist Health System's Center for Pastoral Ministries.

The chaplains in the Department of Pastoral Care respect the faith of every patient and seek to assist them on their journey toward spiritual and physical wholeness.

We have a chaplain on campus or on call at all times. The chaplain is available for visitation in the hospital, nursing home, home care environment, or for consultation or programs for community organizations.

The Director of Pastoral Care is Chaplain Glenn Winter, a Board Certified Chaplain with over twenty five years' experience in healthcare ministries. You can contact him at 256-401-4607, or have the chaplain on duty paged through the hospital operator at 256-401-4000.
